6/14 A male called dispatch stating he’d been drinking and was unable to drive and requested a ride. He was reportedly laying in a ditch near the 6500 block of State Highway 131 in the Town of Kickapoo. A deputy attempted to locate him but he was gone on their arrival.
6/14 Dispatch received information regarding a black vehicle on County Road V in the Town of Greenwood throwing full beer cans and other items at passing horse-drawn vehicles. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle described. No injuries were reported.
6/15 A driver was cited for speeding 87 mph in a 55 mph zone near US Highway 14 and County Road Y in the Town of Viroqua.
6/16 A deputy assisted BNSF railway police with an anonymous complaint regarding residents in the community of Victory trespassing on railroad property and allegedly stealing ballast.
6/17 Sheriff’s deputies and Westby Police responded to a business on Stenslien Road in the City of Westby for a burglar alarm which turned out to be an accidental activation.
6/18 Dispatch received two calls for loose cattle near the intersections of County Road Y and Irish Ridge Road in the Town of Jefferson and County Road O and State Highway 162 in the Town of Bergen. Both owners were contacted and animals returned to their enclosures.
6/19 Sheriff’s deputies and Westby Police responded to a residence on Stalsberg Street in the City of Westby for a domestic disturbance. A male was arrested for Battery-Simple Assault, Strangulation and Suffocation, and Disorderly Conduct.
6/20 Sometime during the evening hours a vehicle drove through a ditch on State Highway 27 near County Road P in the Town of Christiana, then struck a road sign leaving a license plate at the scene. Deputies have so far been unable to make contact with the owner registered to the plate.
6/20 A deputy initiated a traffic stop near State Highway 35 and Mallard Lane in the Town of Bergen. During the stop the driver was found to be in possession of narcotic drugs and paraphernalia and was arrested. They were also cited for Operating While Suspended and Non-Registration of Auto.
