WESTBY, Wis. – Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson reports on Tuesday evening, Sept. 15, at approximately 7:15 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center was notified of a single-vehicle crash on Barstad Road, near the intersection of Tri-State Road, rural Westby, in the Town of Viroqua.
Jack Alan Fortner, 31, of Coon Valley was traveling north, went off the right side of the roadway, and struck a tree. Fortner was wearing a seatbelt and the vehicle airbags deployed. No injuries were reported.
At the scene with the Sheriff’s Office were the Westby First Responders, Viroqua Fire Department, and Emplify Health Ambulance (Gundersen Tri-State).
The incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
