Vernon County seeking residents to serve on the County Planning Commission

Vernon County is seeking residents interested in serving on the County Planning Commission. Members will serve a two-year term, beginning in January 2026, and will be responsible for implementation of the County’s Comprehensive Plan and development of farmland preservation, subdivision, and general zoning ordinance recommendations to the County Board.

The planning commission will recommend amendments to the Comprehensive Plan as necessary. The commission is composed of four County Board supervisors and 3 community members appointed by the County Board Chair.

Interested residents should send a letter of interest to County Administrative Coordinator Cassandra Hanan at cassandra.hanan@vernoncountywi.gov or by mail to 400 Courthouse Square, Viroqua, WI 54665. Letters of interest should be submitted no later than December 19, 2025.
