VIROQUA, Wis. – Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson and the organizers of Vernon County National Night Out say the event was very successful again this year. Torgerson said the combination of good weather and wide array of attractions drew what was likely another record crowd. Torgerson said the event is only possible because of all the volunteers and organizations that donate their time and materials.
Highlights of the Event:
- Meet and Greet: Interact with local law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel and learn more about their roles in keeping our community safe.
- Safety Demonstrations: Witness live demonstrations from police and fire departments, including K-9 units, fire safety drills, and more.
- Kids Zone: This area offers a range of activities for children, including handouts, games, a dunk tank, and a bounce house.
- Food & Refreshments: Free food and drinks will be available.
- Community Resources: Information booths from various community businesses and organizations offering services and support to residents.
- Emergency Vehicle Display and Parade: See all the vehicles keeping you safe. At the end of the night, enjoy the vehicle parade.
- Gundersen Air Helicopter: Get a close-up look at the Gundersen Air helicopter and talk with the staff.
- Fireworks Display: Enjoy a brilliant display of fireworks to wrap up the night’s activities.
