Vernon County hires new Assistant District Attorney

Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson welcomes new Assistant District Attorney Trevor Paulson to Vernon County

VIROQUA, Wis. – Vernon County District Attorney Angela-Palmer Fisher announced last week she has hired Attorney Trevor Paulson to fill the Assistant District Attorney spot that has been vacant since August. Paulson has been working as an Assistant State Public Defender for the last year and a half serving Iowa, Richland, Grant and Crawford counties. Prior to his work as a public defender Paulson worked in a private law firm.

Paulson fills a seat vacated by Jasmine Betancourt who stepped down as Vernon County Assistant District Attorney in August. Palmer-Fisher was appointed by Governor Tony Evers as Vernon County’s District Attorney following the election of former District Attorney Timothy Gaskell to the Vernon County Circuit Court Judge’s seat in April.

Pauslon is scheduled begin in Vernon County on October 23.
