Today was the first day for early “in person” voting in Wisconsin but we are heard from county election officials that there is quite a bit of confusion about early voting. While it is true that you can now vote in person at your local polling place, county officials say it is important to keep in mind in the smaller villages and townships the opportunity for early in-person voting may be limited to certain hours or days, or you may need to call ahead.

Vernon County Clerk Jerry Pedretti said many of these communities have part-time clerks and make accommodations for early voting in various ways. Some will have hours available on various days where you can vote at the village or town hall. Others may ask that you make an appointment to vote.
Below is a complete list of polling locations in Vernon County and what procedure is in place for your specific area for early voting. This information is also available on the Vernon County website under voting and elections (Class E notice).
Residents of the City of Viroqua may vote early by coming to the Viroqua City Hall upstairs lobby during the dates and times listed below.
October 22-25 and October 28-31, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
November 1, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
A valid photo ID is required; no appointment is needed.
