Two people injured in two vehicle crash near Westby

WESTBY, Wis. — Two drivers were injured in a rear-end collision Wednesday afternoon at a rural intersection in Vernon County, authorities said.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’ Office, the crash happened around 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of State Highway 27 and Rudie Road in the Town of Christiana.

The Ssheriff’s Report states that Jessica L. Godbold, 50, of rural Westby, was driving north on Highway 27 and had stopped to turn left onto Rudie Road when her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Jerita L. Hubele, 40, of rural Ontario.

Both drivers sustained injuries but declined ambulance transport, Torgerson said.

The Westby Police Department, Westby First Responders, Westby-Christiana Fire Department and Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
