According to the Sheriff 25-year-old Georgie Fitzpatrick, of Richland Center, Wis. was traveling north on Three Chimney Road approaching the intersection controlled by a stop sign for the north/south traffic.  Fitzpatrick reported stopping, but said he was unable to see traffic from the left due to an obstruction.  As Fitzpatrick entered the intersection, he was struck by a vehicle driven by Korey Nickelas Hawkins, 30, of Viroqua, Wis.  The Hawkins vehicle was traveling east on Tri-State Road.

The Sheriff states that Fitzpatrick was wearing a seat-belt and did not report any injuries. Neither Hawkins, nor his passenger, Hannah Lynn Hawkins, 23, of Tomah, Wis. were wearing seat-belts and both sustained injuries. Airbags deployed in both vehicles. They were both transported to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wis. by Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.

The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office were the Westby-Christiana Fire Department, Westby First Responders, and Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.
