Two people injured in Chaseburg area motorcycle crash

CHASEBURG, Wis – Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson reports an Eau Claire man and his passenger were sent to the hospital after crashing their motorcycle on County Highway K, around 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 31. A Sheriff’s report says 50-year-old John Christopher of Eau Claire was operating a motorcycle on County Road K, north of County Road O, traveling south when he lost control on a curve, went off the roadway, and overturned.

Christopher and his passenger, Coralie Ann Gumbert, 50, were both transported to Gundersen Health System, in La Crosse, Wis. by Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.  Both were treated and released.  Both operator and passenger were wearing helmets, eye protection, long pants, and boots.

Assisting the Sherif’s Office at scene were the Genoa-Harmony Fire Department and first responders, Stoddard-Bergen Fire Department and first responders, and Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.

The crash remains under investigation.
