Two people arrested on drug related charges after Crawford County traffic stop

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Wis. – Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit initiated a traffic stop on US HWY 18 in the Township of Bridgeport on Sunday, July 20.

During the stop, K9 Diego was utilized and alerted to the presence of one or more controlled substances in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jennifer Kassinger, 40, of Elkader, Iowa, and her passenger was identified as Billy Bahls. 49, also of Elkader. Kassinger and Bahls were arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Sheriff’s Office said a child was also present in the vehicle at the time of the stop. The child was safely removed with the assistance of Crawford County Department of Health and Human Services. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Prairie du Chien Police Department. All individual(s) are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
