SOLDIERS GROVE, Wis. — A traffic stop conducted by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit on Friday resulted in the arrest of a La Crosse man after authorities discovered cocaine and a loaded handgun in his vehicle.


Sheriff Dale McCullick said the stop occurred on Sept. 26 in the Village of Soldiers Grove. The K9 handler observed drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, prompting a search. Deputies located a plastic bag containing several grams of cocaine and a loaded firearm.
The driver, Joshua Emmer, 37, was taken into custody and transported to the Crawford County Jail. He faces charges of possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Emmer is also being referred for charges of felon in possession of a firearm.
The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the incident.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
