Three vehicle crash on Highway 14 sends two to the hospital

VIROQUA, Wis. – According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, April 24 at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center was notified of a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 14 at the intersection of East Smith Road, in the town of Viroqua.

The Sheriff’s report states that Hannah Simonson, 18, of Coon Valley, Wis. was turning left onto East Smith Road off of US Highway 14. Sara Buschman, 53, of Madison, Wis. was traveling west on US Highway 14 and the vehicles collided, causing the Buschman vehicle to overturn and roll into a third vehicle which was stopped at a stop sign on East Smith Road. The third vehicle was occupied by the driver, Amira Al-Moussawi, 26, of Madison, Wis. and a passenger, Karl Grant, 24, of Belfast, Ireland. The Simonson vehicle continued into a ditch.

Buschman and a passenger, Donna Emerson, 79, of Barneveld, Wis. were transported to Gundersen Medical Center in LaCrosse, WI by Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.
