Three people injured when driver suffers medical issue, strikes tree

TOWN OF BERGEN, Wis, – Sheriff Roy Torgerson reports on November 5 at 7:37 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office 9-1-1 Dispatch Center was notified of a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 35, just north of Mohawk Valley Road, in the town of Bergen.  The driver of the vehicle Joshua D. Haight, 46, along with his two passengers, Jeremy D. Haight, 46, and Kailee R. Haight, 18, all from De Soto were traveling north on State Highway 35.   Joshua D. Haight had a medical event while driving that resulted in the vehicle crossing the center-line, going into the ditch, and striking a tree. 

All three occupants were wearing seat belts and air bags were deployed. All three occupants were injured and transported to Gundersen Health System by Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Stoddard-Bergen Fire Department and Stoddard First Responders.

The accident remains under investigation.
