Coon Valley, Wis. – The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office reported today they made three arrests in the community of Coon valley as the result of a joint investigation with multiple agencies including the La Crosse Police Department. Police say they executed multiple warrants as part of an ongoing drug investigation into Stanley J. Holte, 33, and Julia A. Lloyd, 39, both of Coon Valley.
On Monday, June 12, Holte and Lloyd were taken into custody in Coon Valley, Wis. as part of a joint effort with the Vernon County Sheriff’s Department, La Crosse County Sheriff’s Department, Onalaska Police Department, and Campbell Police Department. Mr. Holte fled from officers during the contact but was arrested and transported to the Vernon County Jail for OWI and for possession of approximately 2lbs of Methamphetamine that was located under the driver’s seat of his vehicle.
A passenger in the Holte vehicle, Damien Reinsvold, was also taken to Vernon County Jail on charges related to possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Lloyd was taken into custody at her residence without incident. A search of the residence uncovered approximately 3 lbs of Methamphetamine and over $49,000 cash related to drug distribution.
Law enforcement reports that they believe Holte had been supplying large quantities of drugs to the La Crosse, Vernon, Crawford,Monroe counties in Wisconsin and Houston County in Minnesota. Over 5 lbs of Methamphetamine and 31.3 grams of Fentanyl were seized as part of this investigation. Holte was released from prison in early 2022 and has previous methamphetamine and resisting convictions.
Possible charges Holte and Lloyd could face include Probation Violation, Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine (> 50 grams), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Maintain Drug Trafficking Place, Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl (10-50).
All three defendants appeared in Vernon County Circuit Court today via video from the Vernon County Detention Center for bail hearings. Julia Llloyd is being held on a $500,000 cash bond. Stanley Holte is also being held on a $500,000 cash bond. Damien Resinsvold will be released on a $2,000 Signature Bond.
All three are due back in Vernon County Circuit Court, on July 6th, at 8:30 AM, for an initial appearance.
Law enforcement said this remains an ongoing investigation. La Crosse Police Chief Shawn Kudron stated the collaboration between agencies allows us all to better serve our communities.
“We want to thank the Vernon County Sheriff’s Department, La Crosse County Sheriff’s Department, Onalaska Police Department, and Campbell Police Departments,” Kudorn said. “We will continue to work together for the safety of everyone and to send a clear message these types of crimes will not be tolerated.”
