5/4 A deputy was called to a residence near the 8800 block of County Road SS in the Town of Viroqua to dispatch a deer that appeared to have been struck by a vehicle and was badly wounded.

5/5 Six to seven horses were found in the roadway near County Road P and State Highway 82 in the Town of Forest. A deputy was able to locate the owners and assisted with getting them back to their barn.

5/5 A deputy responded to Dodson Hollow Road. Town of Coon patrolmen reported the theft of a Men and Equipment Working sign as well as some traffic cones.

5/5 A deputy responded to a business on South 4th Street in the Village of Readstown that reported a theft of various items. A suspect on video was contacted and the items were returned.

5/5 Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of County Road P and County Road S in the Town of Clinton when a truck that was hauling equipment on a trailer tipped over. Westby Fire Department and Vernon County Hazmat assisted at the scene with clean up. No injuries were reported.

5/7 Dispatch received notice of a car versus deer collision on State Highway 33 in the Town of Hillsboro. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. The driver reported no injuries. The deer was fatally wounded.

5/7 A deputy was dispatched to a residence on East Kickapoo Street in the Village of Readstown for a 4-year-old male who had gone missing. Readstown Fire Department and EMS were called to assist with the search. The child was found hiding in the backyard a short time later.

5/9 Deputies conducted a traffic stop near US Highway 14 and Springville Road for a truck with a gooseneck trailer that was speeding. The truck had no plates visible and the load being carried was unsecured. The driver received citations for Operating While

Suspended, Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance, Non-Registration of Auto, and Failure to Obtain Vehicle Title.

5/9 Dispatch was notified of a two vehicle accident near State Highway 27 and County Road X in the Town of Christiana. A driver hit a car that was parked alongside the road, pushing it into the ditch. The driver’s car received disabling damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.
