6/8 Deputies responded to a one vehicle crash on State Highway 56 in the Town of Liberty. The driver left the scene and was later found walking eastbound. Deputies determined the driver was impaired; they were processed for Operating While Under the Influence and transported to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
6/10 A deputy responded to a residence on Maple Lane in the Town of Hillsboro for a homeowner’s report of an unknown vehicle in their driveway. Contact was made with the driver. The deputy noted signs of impairment and the odor of intoxicants inside the vehicle. The driver was processed for Operating While Under the Influence and transported to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
6/12 A deputy responded to a car versus deer crash on US Highway 14 near Sherpe Road in the Town of Viroqua. The driver, Tyler R. Erickson, Onalaska, reported no injuries and the vehicle was still operational.
6/12 Multiple traffic complaints were called in for a vehicle driving recklessly throughout Vernon, Crawford, and La Crosse counties. The vehicle was eventually located and stopped once it had crossed into La Crosse county. The driver received citations.
6/12 Vernon County sheriff’s deputies initiated a traffic stop at a business on North Main Street in the Village of Stoddard. During the stop a La Crosse County K9 was deployed and alerted to the presence of illegal substances. Suspected drugs and other drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. The suspect will face potential charges of Bail Jumping, Possession of Narcotic Drugs, THC, Amphetamine/LSD/Psilocin and Paraphernalia, Possess w/Intent – Amphetamine (>3-10g), as well as Resisting or Obstructing an Officer.
6/14 A deputy responded to US Highway 14 in the Town of Hamburg for a car versus deer crash. The driver, Janet Wilk of Mindoro, reported no injuries and the vehicle was towed due to heavy front-end damage.
6/14 A deputy responded to a residence on South Maiben Street in the Village of Readstown to assist a driver with gaining entry to their vehicle after their dog inadvertently locked the doors while it was inside.
