S&S Cycle of Viola recognized for their support of area schools

Tom Burkhalter, District Administrator, presented a Certificate of Recognition to Grant Hillegass, David Zemla, and Jon Montgomery from S & S Cycle.

VIROQUA, Wis. – Local manufacturer S & S Cycle of Viola, Wis was recent;y awarded the 2022-2023 Bert Grover Child Advocacy Award from the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators (WASDA) for their support of area youth through Viroqua Schools. The award acknowledges the exceptional business educational partnerships that have demonstrated a significant commitment to children by sharing time, talents, and/or financial support. S&S was nominated for the award by Viroqua Area Schools.

In a statement from Viroqua Schools on social media they said S&S Cycle has been a valued partner within our community for many years. Recently, they donated 24 strider bikes, helmets, one adult strider bike, and curriculum to be used for Kindergarten and first grade students during physical education classes. S&S Cycle employees also donated their time to “build the bikes” and were present for the unveiling for students as well as planning to return to add pedals to a small number of bikes for those students who are ready. We are lucky to have a community partner that is so passionate about supporting local schools!

S&S Cycle manufactures high performance after market engine parts for Harley Davidson and other V-twin motorcycles. They started manufacturing in 1958 and have been located in Viola since 1969.
