Knowlton Scot Sanders, 60, of rural Cashton, was operating an International Workstar dump truck and actively plowing snow as part of winter highway maintenance when he lost reference to the roadway edges due to heavy snowfall. The truck went off the left side of the road, rolled onto the driver’s side and came to rest just off the roadway.

Sanders was injured and transported to Vernon Health in Viroqua by La Farge Area Ambulance and Tri‑State Ambulance/Gundersen Ambulance.

Cashton Fire & Rescue and La Farge Area Ambulance assisted the Sheriff’s Office at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation, Torgerson said.
