COON VALLEY Wis. – Sleepy Hollow Ford is partnering with the community this Sunday to raise up to $6000 for improvements to Sunny’s Walking Trail. The dealership will host a Drive for Your Community event at Coon Valley Elementary School where locals can support the cause simply by taking a spin in a new vehicle.
Ford Motor Company will donate $30 toward the trail for every test drive completed during the afternoon. The organizers hope to reach 200 test drives to secure the maximum possible contribution of $6000.
The raised funds will be used to upgrade the quarter mile community path located directly behind the school. The planned trail improvements include new ground screenings along with updated signage and new benches for the community to enjoy.
Sleepy Hollow Ford management emphasized that the event is an opportunity to improve a cherished local asset. “This is about investing in the people and places that make our community special,” said Janie Felton who serves as the business development manager at Sleepy Hollow Ford. “Sunny’s Walking Trail is a resource so many families enjoy and we’re excited to help make it even better while sharing a great afternoon together”.
The fundraiser takes place on Monday, June 1, from 2 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The test drive event perfectly coincides with the annual Coon Valley Elementary School family picnic which makes it an ideal opportunity for community members to enjoy a fun afternoon while supporting a local cause.
Participants must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid drivers license and auto insurance. No purchase is necessary to participate in the test drives and all residents are welcome to attend the family picnic festivities regardless of whether they choose to get behind the wheel.
To add an extra treat to the afternoon Sleepy Hollow Ford will be serving free ice cream from their vintage ice cream truck for all drivers and families at the event.
