SOLDIERS GROVE, Wis. – The Sing Me a Story Foundation creates music inspired by the creative stories of children in need. Sing Me a Story has partnered with the North Crawford School Band to give a 7-year-old cancer survivor a very special experience including a performance scheduled for May 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the North Crawford School.

Ruby was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia B Cell in January 2020 at the age of three, just shy of 4-years-old. After a long battle, she took her last dose of chemo in 2022. Ruby’s Mom went on to start her own non-profit, Chasing Rainbows, whose mission is to support Pediatric Cancer research and the families affected by pediatric cancer.

Through the Sing Me A Story program, Ruby was given the opportunity to write and illustrate a story about anything she wanted. She wrote and illustrated a story titled “Ruby’s Story.” Her story is about her cancer journey, featuring the good moments.

Sing Me A Story handed Ruby’s story to composer Samuel Fuchs, a composition student at the University of Wisconsin Platteville, who turned it into a piece of music that will be performed live for Ruby and her family by the North Crawford School band. The performance is scheduled for May 15th at 7:30 at the North Crawford School (47050 County Road X, Soldiers Grove, WI)
