Oct

RICHLAND COUNTY, Wis. (AP) — The Richland County Sheriff’s Office announced criminal charges Monday against a 56-year-old man following an ongoing death investigation into an adult male found deceased in rural Richland County.

Judd Allen Frazier, 56, has been charged with Felony Murder and Felon in Possession of a Firearm, according to a press release from Sheriff Clay Porter.

The investigation began on September 29, 2025, when deputies responded to a medical call in rural Richland County and located an adult male who was deceased at the scene.

Through subsequent investigation, deputies learned of a physical altercation that had occurred on September 26, 2025, involving the victim. Information gathered from the scene and other investigative efforts ultimately led to the criminal charges being filed against Frazier.

Frazier was initially taken into custody on October 1, 2025, by the Boscobel Police Department, though the arrest was for a separate Wisconsin Department of Corrections warrant. Frazier continues to be confined at the Richland County Sheriff’s Office jail.

Sheriff Porter offered condolences in the release, stating, “Our thoughts are with the victim and his family during this difficult time”. He added that the department remains committed to thoroughly investigating the matter and ensuring that justice is pursued.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by numerous agencies. These included Muscoda EMS, the Richland County Special Response Team, the Richland Center Police Department, the Richland County Coroner’s Office, the Richland Center Fire Department, and the Richland County District Attorney’s Office. Assistance was also provided by the Boscobel Police Department and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office.
