Registration opens as after school program returns to the McIntosh Memorial Library

June 29, 2026

VIROQUA, Wis.––Online registration opens Monday, June 29, for the McIntosh Memorial Library of Viroqua’s After School Program. After a year of planning, the library is pleased to announce the program will return for the 2026-2027 school year operating from Tuesday, September 8, 2026 – Thursday, May 27, 2027.

“We’re committed to fostering a love of learning, creativity, and community among young learners” said Library Director Trina Erickson. “Thanks to many partners we’re so pleased to be able to bring back the After School Program in the fall. This program has always been appreciated and needed in a community where childcare is severely lacking.”

This safe, engaging, and supportive learning time will take place Monday through Thursday from 3:30-5:15pm. Each session will include a nutritious snack, fun activities, and dedicated homework help to support students’ academic success.

The program follows the Viroqua Area School’s calendar, and is open to all students in the Viroqua Area School District, including public, private, and homeschooled children going into grades 1-4 in the fall of 2026.

The program is provided at no charge to registered participants. Registration is on a first-come, first-served registration, with priority given to families committed to full-time attendance (Monday–Thursday). Online registration opens Monday, June 29 and will be posted on the library website at www.mcintoshmemoriallibrary.org under Services.
