Registration continues for after school program at the Mc Intosh Memorial Library in Viroqua

July 16, 2026

Nearly 300 students have participated in the After School Program managed by the McIntosh Memorial Library of Viroqua since it began in 2017. Serving students in the Viroqua Area School District in 1st – 4th grades the program provides no cost childcare so parents can complete their workdays.

The library recently hired Aris Lara as the program manager and is partnering with six local organizations to provide daily volunteer program support.

“We are so thankful for the 30 volunteers that have signed up to work with Aris to run the program for the 2026-2027 school year” said Library Director Trina Erickson. “Aris has over 15 years of experience working with children and is already planning activities. Aris is really looking forward to connecting with local children and families.”

Registration for the program is required as space and materials are limited. The registration materials are available on the library website at www.mcintoshmemoriallibrary.org under the Services tab.

The program will be offered Monday-Thursday from 3:00-5:15 at the McIntosh Memorial Library. The first day is Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Students enrolled will receive a nutritious snack, engage in outdoor activities, and receive homework help to support academic success. The program follows the Viroqua Area School’s calendar.
