Registered Crawford County sex offender arrested after allegedly luring juvenile into van

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. – The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a registered sex offender is in custody after allegedly luring a juvenile into a van with the intent of engaging in sex acts. Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation on Sunday, June 1, 2025, on a report of an adult male luring a juvenile into the back of a white cargo van on County Road K in the Township of Prairie du Chien.

the Sheriff’s Office says that investigation revealed that Shawn Levock, 48, of Prairie du Chien, lured a 14-year-old into the back of a van with the intent of engaging in sexual acts with the juvenile, however, the juvenile exited the van without being physically or sexually abused.

Levock is a registered lifetime sex offender. He was arrested and he is currently being held in the Crawford County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond for a charge of child enticement.
