Bruce Kilmer confirmed as winner after District 5 recount in Vernon County Board of Supervisors race

VIROQUA, Wis. – Nicolas Erlandson asked for a recount in the Vernon County Board of Supervisors District 5 race after the April 2 election showed he lost his race by one vote 176-175. County Clerk Jerry Pedretti found no change after a canvass of the votes on Monday, April 8 but Erlandson filed a petition on April 9 for the more detailed recount following that canvass.

Vernon County Board of Election Canvass’ recount on April 11 confirmed that Kilmer had 176 votes and Erlandson 175. There was a scattering of one vote. Votes in the “scattering” category are write-in votes that do not effect the outcome in the other categories.

The recount included several voting precincts including the town of Coon Ward 1, town of Hamburg Ward 2, and all wards in the village of Coon Valley.
