Crawford County Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that a Prairie du Chien man who was on probation faces traffic and drug related charges following a traffic stop and subsequent search of his home.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop in Prairie du Chien on Wednesday, July 23 and the driver of the vehicle was identified as Edward Strand, 38, of Prairie du Chien. Strand’s driver’s license was revoked, and he displayed indicators of drug impairment. Subsequently, Strand was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a restricted controlled substance, second offense, and operating a motor vehicle with a revoked driver’s license.

Following the traffic stop, because Strand was on probation law enforcement personnel searched Strand’s apartment for illegal narcotics under the guidelines established in Wisconsin ACT 79. The search resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, drug paraphernalia, and THC concentrate. Strand received additional charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of psilocybin mushrooms, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of THC concentrate, and violation of probation.
Law enforcement says Hannah Pratt, 33, of Waukon, Iowa, was present at Strand’s apartment, and she too was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and felony bail-jumping. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Prairie du Chien Police Department. All individual(s) are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
