Prairie du Chien man and woman on probation arrested on drug charges following search of residence by Crawford County authorities

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. – Crawford County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a man and a woman from Prairie du Chien on drug related charges following the execution of a search warrant in the township of Prairie du Chien last Tuesday.

Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that on Tuesday, April 16th, a narcotics / theft related search warrant was served at 64041 County Road N, in the Township of Prairie du Chien. At that residence law enforcement personnel initiated contact with Amanda Bakalars, 38, and Joshua Czap, 48, both of Prairie du Chien. Bakalars and Czap were under the influence of controlled substances. Investigators report that a search of the room was conducted, and numerous items of evidentiary value were discovered, including methamphetamine, methamphetamine paraphernalia, and marijuana.

After searching that residence law enforcement personnel responded to Czap’s residence on South 1st Street in the City of Prairie du Chien and executed a search of that residence under Wisconsin ACT 79 as Czap’s on probation. A search at that location turned up drug related items including methamphetamine, methamphetamine paraphernalia, and THC concentrate.

Bakalars and Czap were arrested for violating the conditions of their probation. Bakalars was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. Czap was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Prairie du Chien Police Department.
