One person seriously injured in two vehicle crash on State Hwy 35

GENOA, Wis. – The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office reports that one person was hospitalized as the result of a two vehicle crash in the village of Genoa on Thursday.

According to the Sheriff’s Report the accident happened at approximately 5:30 p.m., at the intersection of Otter Street and State Highway 35 in village of Genoa. The report states that 32-year-old Katie Lynn Foley of Mt. Sterling, Wis. was traveling south on State Highway 35 and struck the rear of a southbound vehicle operated by Anthony Boardman, 24, from Genoa, while
Boardman was attempting to turn left onto Otter Street.

Significant injuries were reported and Foley was transported to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wis., by Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.

Assisting the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office were the Wisconsin State Patrol, Genoa-Harmony Fire Department & First Responders, and Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.
