One person injured in two vehicle crash near Stoddard

STODDARD, Wis. – Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson reports a two-vehicle collision occurred on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., in the town of Bergen.

According to the Sheriff’s report, Nicholas Lance Liedtke, 16, of rural Gays Mills, Wis., was driving west on Cedar Valley Road and lost control on a downhill curve to the right, and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Theodore L. Kirven, 46, of rural Stoddard.

The Sheriff’s report states that Liedtke suffered minor injuries and was transported to Gundersen Health System, in La Crosse, Wis., by private vehicle. Kirven did not report any injuries.

Responding to the scene with the Sheriff’s Office were the Stoddard Bergen Fire Department and first responders; and Tri-State Ambulance/Gundersen Ambulance.

The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
