One person injured in rural Viroqua motorcycle crash

VIROQUA, Wis. – A passenger on motorcycle was hospitalized due to a motorcycle crash on State Highway 27 last Sunday.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson the Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center was notified on June 2, at 10:50 a.m., of a motorcycle crash on State Highway 27, near Zitzner Road, rural Viroqua, WI, in the town of Franklin. The Sheriff’s report states that John Michael McKimmy, 42, of Elma, Iowa was operating a motorcycle traveling north and lost control on a curve. The motorcycle traveled off the roadway, into a ditch. A passenger, Allisha Kaylee McKimmy, 35, of Elma, Iowa was ejected from the motorcycle, and the motorcycle came to rest in a field.

Allisha McKimmy was transported to Vernon Memorial Healthcare in Viroqua by Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance. The report did not state Allisha McKimmy’s condition.

Both operator and passenger were wearing eye protections, gloves, boots, long pants, and a jacket; however, neither were wearing helmets.
