One person injured in car, deer accident near Readstown

READSTOWN, Wis – Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson reports one person was injured after the vehicle struck a deer just south of Readstown on Friday night. A Sheriff’s Report states the Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on US Highway 61, just south of Readstown around 6:40 Friday night in the Town of Kickapoo.  The report states one suspected injury was reported as the result of a pickup truck striking a deer. 

The Readstown Fire Department and Readstown Emergency Medical Service responded to the scene, but the patient was not transported.  The vehicle was damaged, but was operable. All units left the scene by 7:15 PM.

“It is imperative that we continue to support our local emergency services, the majority of which consist of volunteers.,” said Sheriff Torgerson. “They are always at the ready to serve the community.  Consider volunteering to serve our community in this very special way.”

The incident remains under investigation.
