No one injured in semi rollover crash in Readstown

READSTOWN, Wis. – The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office reports a semi tractor-trailer rolled over in Readstown around 9 o’clock Tuesday morning. According to the Sheriff, 22-year-old Paxton Swiggum of Viroqua, Wis. was operating a semi tractor-trailer, transporting corn driving east on US Highway 14. While turning right onto US Highway 61 south, Swiggum lost control and the semi rolled onto its left side, spilling the load along the northbound shoulder of Highway 61. Swiggum was wearing a seatbelt and no injuries were reported.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Wisconsin State Patrol, Readstown Fire Department, Readstown Ambulance, Viola Fire Department, and the Soldiers Grove Fire Department. Vernon County Emergency Management responded and coordinated the cleanup of Diesel fuel that was spilled.

All units cleared from the scene shortly after 1:00 p.m.
