Significant damage was reported in three of the hardest-hit communities in Dodge County: Mayville, Juneau, and Horicon, where multiple trees fell and houses were damaged.
Mayville Mayor Rob Boelk declared a state of emergency Thursday after the south side of the city was severely affected, with residential homes and factories sustaining substantial destruction.
Alliant Energy crews disconnected gas and electric services to ensure safety in the affected area. No injuries have been reported.
The Red Cross is providing aid to displaced residents.
Friday evening, the National Weather Service said one of the four tornadoes, an EF-2 tornado, began west of Juneau. It was on the ground for nearly 9.2 miles, ending just east of Horicon. Peak wind speeds were estimated to be around 120 miles per hour.
A second tornado, an EF-1, began near the Dodge County Airport, north of Juneau. This tornado continued to head east until it reached the Rock River. The length of this tornado was projected to be around four miles. Peak wind speed was 95 miles per hour.
An EF-2 tornado impacted Mayville. It began southwest of Mayville. It continued to the northeast for around 5 miles. Peak wind speeds were around 120 miles per hour.
A brief EF-1 was also confirmed southwest of Lomira. The estimated path length was half a mile. Peak wind speeds were around 95 miles per hour.
