Monroe County man charged for allegedly possessing and creating child sex abuse images and videos

TOMAH, Wis. – Authorities in Monroe County announced they have arrested of 56-year-old James Ossinger of rural Tomah after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the execution of a search warrant revealed he was in possession of hundreds of images and videos of child sexual abuse.

A Monroe County Sheriff’s Office report states that on Nov. 19, shortly after 9 a.m., the Monroe County Combined Tactical Unit executed a search warrant and arrested Ossinger at his home. The arrest came after months of investigation that was first reported to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office by NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children). The investigation uncovered that Ossinger was in possession of hundreds of images and videos of child sexual abuse material.

The Sheriff’s office goes on to say their investigation has also uncovered evidence that leads them to believe that Ossinger was involved in the creation of the material. Ossinger was booked into the Monroe County Jail on multiple counts of each of following:

  • first degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 13
  • child enticement
  • possession of child pornography

The Sherrif’s Office says additional charges will likely be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
