WESTBY, Wis. – Westby Police have confirmed that 49-year-old Corey Simonson of Westby has been located following a five day search. Police initially began searching for Simonson after it was believed he crashed a car into the front door of a Viroqua business (see previous story below). Simonson was arrested and charged with burglary to a building or dwelling and criminal damage to property for that incident and released.
After being released family members began posting on social media that they believed Simonson was suffering a mental health crisis. Simonson’s information was posted to the national database “Missing Persons In America”. Westby Police and family members through social media said Simonson had been found on Friday morning. One family member posted that he was rushed to a Minnesota hospital, but we have not independently verified that information.
