LA FARGE, Wis. — A missing child in the Village of La Farge was found safe Thursday following a coordinated search involving multiple emergency agencies and community members, authorities said.
La Farge Police Chief Steven Palmer said the successful outcome was the result of teamwork, quick action and strong cooperation among local and county resources.
Palmer credited the La Farge Fire Department, including its drone team, La Farge EMS, Vernon County Emergency Management Director Brandon Larson, Vernon County Human Services and the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office for assisting in the search effort.
He also thanked Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson and sheriff’s office dispatchers for helping coordinate community notifications during the incident.
Additional assistance came from K-9 Handler Andreja Tessman and K-9 Zibby, as well as K-9 Handler Neil Funk and K-9 Wrigley.
Palmer said the child was located safely with the help of responding agencies, volunteers and community members.
“I am grateful for the dedication, professionalism and willingness to help shown by everyone involved,” Palmer said.
