Minor injuries in two vehicle crash at State Highway 14 and County SS

VIROQUA, Wis. – Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson reports minor injuries as the result of a two vehicle accident that happened at the Intersection of State Highway 14 and County Road SS earlier this month.

According to a Sheriff’s Office report they responded to the crash around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 11. According to the report 79-year-old Aart Ronald Veldhuizen of Viroqua was driving south on Highway 14 and attempting a left turn onto County Road SS. The Veldhuizen vehicle struck a northbound Volkswagen Passat driven by Damion Scott Nicoll, 38, of Black Earth, Wis.

There was no medical transport, but Nicoll later reported minor injuries to a teenage passenger in his vehicle.

At the scene with the Sheriff’s Office were the Viroqua Police Department, Viroqua Fire Dept., Viroqua Emergency Medical Responders, and Tri-State Ambulance/Gundersen Ambulance.

The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
