TOWN OF BERGEN, Wis. — A Rochester, Minnesota, man escaped injury early Sunday after his pickup truck left the roadway and overturned in Vernon County, authorities said.

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called at about 12:04 a.m. to a single‑vehicle crash on State Highway 35 near Mohawk Valley Road in the Town of Bergen.

According to the sheriff’s office, Jourdain M. Hellkamp, 27, was driving north when his 2013 Chevrolet Silverado went into the ditch, struck a mailbox and rolled onto its passenger side.

Hellkamp was evaluated at the scene and declined medical transport. Officials said he had been wearing a seatbelt and the vehicle’s airbags deployed.

The Stoddard Bergen Fire Department, Stoddard First Responders and Tri‑State/Gundersen Ambulance assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
