HILLSBORO, Wis. – At Milestone Senior Living of Hillsboro, residents are like family. Each
month, the community aims to make a resident’s dream come true. In March, the spotlight was
on Verda Jean Miller, a beloved member of the community with a rich history.
Verda’s story is one of dedication and passion. For years, she taught preschool in the Royall
School District. Alongside teaching, Verda shared her love for music by playing the piano at the
United Methodist Church in Elroy and giving piano lessons.
When Verda moved to Milestone Senior Living, her passion for music continued. She brought
her piano with her, and now its melodies fill the hallways, adding to the warm atmosphere of
Milestone.
In a heartfelt effort to honor her musical background and passion, and after conversations with
her family, the team at Milestone orchestrated a special outing: a dueling piano show at The
Grateful Shed in Wisconsin Dells. Accompanied by fellow residents and staff, Verda enjoyed the captivating melodies and vibrant atmosphere, making memories she will cherish.
“The ‘Dare to Dream’ program is all about making meaningful experiences accessible to our
residents,” said Brittany Kuester, Life Engagement Coordinator at Milestone Senior Living of
Hillsboro. “Verda’s joy is truly rewarding.”
