STODDARD, Wis. – Michael W. Kellogg, age 64, of Stoddard, WI, passed away surrounded by his children, Derek and Jamie, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center on Saturday, November 8, 2025, following a stroke. He was born April 17, 1961 to John and Ruth (Thoftne) Kellogg. Mike married Tina Egge (now Schweitzer) and became a dad to Jamie, and a few years later they had Derek. They later divorced. His work experience includes working on his family mink ranch in WI and MI, and owning and operating Kellogg’s Keg in Viola, WI. He later bought and operated a successful bar in La Crosse, WI under the same Kellogg’s Keg name for 10 years where he made many friends. In his later years he enjoyed working at the Thirsty Turtle in Stoddard. He had an infectious smile and was someone that people enjoyed being around. His most loved hobbies included duck hunting and fishing on the Mississippi. He also loved his dog Louie who went everywhere with him.
Mike is survived by his children: Jamie (Jason) Thomas and Derek (Jessica) Kellogg; his mother, Ruth Kellogg; brother, Scott Kellogg; five grandchildren: Oakley, Tessa and Beckham Kellogg, and Kristina and Karly Thomas; his beloved dog, Louie; many cousins; and countless friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, John Kellogg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Popp Funeral and Cremation Services in Viroqua. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Popp Funeral and Cremation Services in Viroqua. A luncheon after the service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the American Legion in Stoddard followed by a reception celebrating Mike’s remarkable life at the Thirsty Turtle, Stoddard. In lieu of plants and flowers memorials are preferred with proceeds being given to charity in Mike’s name. Popp Funeral and Cremation Services in Viroqua has the honor of being entrusted with his services.
The family extends thanks to the medical staff at Gundersen in La Crosse for the excellent care he received in his final days.
