RICHLAND COUNTY, Wis. — A juvenile was seriously injured Tuesday morning after a crash involving a truck and a bicycle in Richland County, authorities said.

Emergency responders were called at about 10:17 a.m. to the intersection of County Highway RC and Raymond Lane following reports of a collision between a vehicle and a bicyclist.

According to a preliminary investigation by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, a truck traveling east on County Highway RC attempted to pass a juvenile riding a bicycle in the same direction. Authorities said the bicyclist veered into the lane of traffic, and the truck driver was unable to avoid the collision.

The juvenile sustained injuries in the crash and was treated at the scene before being transported to Richland Hospital. The child was later flown by medical helicopter to the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison for further treatment.

Officials have not released the juvenile’s identity or condition. The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was immediately available.
