McIntosh Memorial Library planning Earth Day celebration

April 2, 2026

VIROQUA, Wis. – Celebrate Earth Day with the McIntosh Memorial Library on Wednesday, April 22 from 4:45-5:45 p.m. Join us in learning all about herbs before planting 10 different kinds of these leafy friends. From chamomile to basil, kids will have the opportunity to learn all about nature, get their hands dirty, and take home some plants!

“Working with nature teaches us patience, resilience, and how to become a plant enthusiast” says Youth Services Director Emilia Jury. “We can learn how to become self-sustainable and foster our own green spaces.”

Open to ages 8-18, no registration is required. This program is free and open to the public.

Earth Day is an annual global event celebrated on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection, raising awareness about pollution, climate change, and conservation. Founded in 1970, it mobilizes over 1 billion people worldwide to take action for a healthier planet through activities like planting trees, cleaning up litter, and promoting sustainability

The Earth Day program is one of many garden themed programs the McIntosh Memorial Library will be offering for patrons in 2026. For more information, please visit www.mcintoshmemoriallibrary.org, or contact the library at 608-637-7151 x 6.
