The McIntosh Memorial Library in partnership with Valley Stewardship Network have announced they will host an informative evening about the grey wolves of Wisconsin. Presented by Scott Walter the program is scheduled for Thursday, May 29 at 5:30 p.m. in the library lobby.
This talk is prepared for an adult audience. Walter will explore the fascinating history and future of grey wolves in the state. From their near extinction in the mid-1900s to the remarkable recovery and expansion over the past 40 years, the speaker will break down the biology, social aspects, and policy challenges surrounding these iconic creatures.
Scott Walter, a Wisconsin native, served for three years as the large carnivore specialist for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). He currently works as the Monitoring Coordinator for the Valley Stewardship Network (VSN). With a doctorate in wildlife ecology from UW-Madison, Scott brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this presentation. He also resides on his family’s seven-generation farm in Richland County.
