McIntosh Memorial Library kicks off Youth Summer Reading Program

May 28, 2025

The McIntosh Memorial Library of Viroqua will be kicking off the 2025 Youth Summer Reading Program at the end of May. Youth’s and their families are invited to the library Saturday, May 31 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. to get involved in the summer program. Attendees can choose a new or used book to keep! At the same time participants can pick up the summer reading logs and summer program schedules. Snacks and boba tea will be served.

“With Viroqua Area Schools dismissing the first week of June we wanted to give local youth the tools they need to keep reading this summer” said Youth Services Director Emilia Jury. “Besides launching our Summer Program on May 31 we’re also hosting a Stories & Service: Armed Forces Day Read-Aloud between 10:00am-12:00pm.

Eight Army personnel will be in the library taking turns reading picture books in 15-miniutes sessions for children and families. This is an opportunity to honor the service of local individuals while fostering a love of reading among young listeners.
