McIntosh Memorial Library of Viroqua will welcome children’s author Amber Sawyer for a special visit at Eckhart Park on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Families with children from birth through age 10 are invited to join the library for an afternoon of stories, inspiration and a real-life encounter with a very special guest.
Sawyer will share her children’s book, which tells the story of her retired racing horse, and she’ll be bringing the horse to the event. Young readers will have the unique opportunity to meet the animal who inspired her story, making this author visit an unforgettable experience.
Children will learn about Sawyer’s writing process, hear her read aloud and see firsthand how real-life experiences can spark creativity and become books that inspire others.
This outdoor program offers families a chance to celebrate reading, connect with an author and enjoy the magic of meeting a horse whose journey from the racetrack to the page has captivated young hearts.
