Lone Rock man killed in Richland County traffic crash

July 18, 2025

LONE ROCK, Wis. – The Richland County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a Lone Rock man died last week after a rollover crash on State Highway 14, west of Lone Rock.

A Sheriff’s report states that the crash was reported on July 11 at around 6:45 p.m. A vehicle traveling west on U.S. Highway 14 crossed the center line, left the road and rolled into a ditch near Moore Drive.

The driver, and only person in the vehicle, was found trapped under the driver’s side of the vehicle. He was taken to Richland Hospital where he later died. The Richland County Sheriff’s Office identified him as 47-year-old Donald W. Foster of Lone Rock.

Deputies learned that Foster had been at a local bar before the crash. Evidence of alcohol consumption was found at the crash scene. It is believed that alcohol and poor road conditions due to heavy rain were factors in the crash.

Foster’s death remains under investigation.
