LA FARGE, Wis. – According to the La Farge Fire Department a home located on North Cherry Street was completely destroyed by fire early Wednesday morning despite a response from two fire departments.
According to fire officials they responded to a call of a house fire at the home around 3:30 a.m. and the fire later spread to a garage. When crews arrived on scene, both structures were almost fully engulfed in flames.
According to La Farge Assistant Fire Chief Troy Deaver, Viola Fire Department provided mutual aid. Deaver said there was one person in the house, who evacuated safely.
According to the fire department crews remained on the scene until just before 7 a.m.
The cause of the fire that destroyed the residence is still under investigation.
