VIROQUA, Wis. – Judith A. Gulbrandsen, 85, of Viroqua, Wis., passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Bethel Oaks Memory Care in Viroqua. She was born January 15, 1940 in Stitzer, Wis., to Cassius and Anne (Burroughs) Morse. Judy graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics in 1962 from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she met Ole Gulbrandsen. She taught for a year in Sparta before they were married in Viroqua. They were married for 62 years. Judy had a great sense of humor and a wonderful smile that would fill your heart. Her attention to detail was evident in everything she did from her quilting and sewing and homemaking to tax return preparation with Ole. She read extensively, and her love of reading led her to serve on the McIntosh Memorial Library board. She had a deep faith in God and lived that faith through her service to the church and her study of scripture. May her spirit continue to live on in our hearts.
Judy is survived by her husband, Ole; her son, John; daughters: Karen (Walter) and Gretchen; and her grandchildren, Jozef and Isabelle.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Cassius Ronald (Janet) Morse.
