Janet Irene Jacobson

Janet Irene Jacobson, 91, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025. She was born September 7, 1933, in La Crosse to John O. and Iona A. (Emerson) Olson.

Janet On Nov. 8, 1952 she married Henry “Bud” Jacobson at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua.  He preceded her in death on October 2, 2015. Janet lived a faith-filled life. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church where she served on the church council and strived to reflect the values of her faith in daily life.  Janet worked for Trinity Lutheran Church in the church office as secretary until her retirement in 1998. She loved traveling throughout the United States with Bud, especially out West.  Janet enjoyed reading, and spending time with family. She loved to socialize with her many friends and connect with people, making even more friends. Janet had a talent for connecting with anyone and everyone. She always knew how to make everyone feel included and what they were saying was important to her.

She is survived by children, Bonnie (Mike) Murro, Jim Jacobson; five grandchildren, Karie (Lee) Johnston, Shannon (John) Prowell, Kelli (Bobby) Rossi, Nathan (Amy) Murro, Riley Jacobson; nine great-grandchildren, Brady and Kalee Johnston, Drew and Jack Prowell, Joey, Jonny and Emmalyn Rossi, Benny and Alex Murro; sister, Gerry Ellefson; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; son, John Jacobson; parents, John and Iona; sisters-in-law, Helen (John) Alden, Marceline (Ken) Hartley; and brothers-in-law, Paul Ellefson, Dick (Lou) Jacobson.

Friends and family will gather at Atonement Lutheran Church, 2132 Deckner Ave., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, February 24 for visitation; Service to follow at 1 p.m. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
