“It Ain’t Easy Being Green” – A Detective Game for the Whole Family

Jan. 30, 2025

The McIntosh Memorial Library is excited to have representatives from the organization Viroqua Plastic Free back at the library. Viroqua Plastic Free will be presenting a fun, interactive event for families: “It Ain’t Easy Being Green,” a detective-themed game designed to educate participants on environmental sustainability and the concept of greenwashing.

The event will take place on Tuesday, February 25 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at the McIntosh Memorial Library, located at 205 South Rock Avenue, Viroqua, WI 54665. This is a Zero Waste event, with soup and bread served at 4:30 PM, followed by the start of the detective game at 5:00 PM.

Attendees will embark on an engaging investigation to uncover the truth about greenwashing — a tactic used by companies to mislead consumers about their environmental practices. Through fun activities, participants will learn how to spot greenwashing in everyday products and gain valuable insights into making more sustainable choices.

This event is open to all ages and is designed to be both educational and entertaining for the whole family. Whether you’re a sustainability enthusiast or just beginning your eco-conscious journey, this event offers an opportunity to learn and have fun together.
